Mondays, 7:00- 8:30 pm The Bible Workbench is a way of exploring the Bible which focuses on the biblical story and its connections to the world around us and our daily lives, rather than on historical or theological discussion. Each session is based on one of the lectionary readings for the coming Sunday, and participants are invited to explore the text through open and provocative questions from the facilitator. The journey through the text seeks life-giving questions that wait to be lived. Each session is independent, so participants can come when they can and not be concerned that they have missed anything necessary for understanding each week's reading. Still, you won't want to miss the challenging, inspiring, and transformational discussions! We use The BIble Workbench guides, which include the text and questions, parallel readings, critical background and other resources for exploring the story. The Bible Workbench is published seven times a year. It can be ordered for $20 per issue, or $125 for a full year ($85 for first-time subscribers). Sessions are facilitated by Rev. Dr. D. Andrew Kille, who is a writer and editor of Bible Workbench. For more information about Bible Workbench, or to order for yourself, go to the Bible Workbench website, www.bibleworkbench.org. |
