Lower School
A St. Philip’s education is grounded in high standards, leadership skills, intellectual prowess and steadfast principles. St. Philip’s graduates are well-rounded young scholars who are welcomed into the finest middle schools in the area.
1st through 3rd Grade
In 1st through 3rd grades, we focus on academic, social-emotional, and spiritual development in an environment that fosters each child’s natural love of learning. Students excel in an environment that is both rigorous and supportive. Traditional academic disciplines are integrated with opportunities in the arts and athletics. Our academic program includes language arts, mathematics, technology, social studies, science, and a variety of special-area classes. With a low student/teacher ratio, teachers and students work closely together, enhancing the learning process at every grade level. St. Philip’s emphasizes self-motivation while providing a solid foundation of skills and concepts for continuing education.
4th & 5th Grade
The 4th and 5th grade program builds new levels of academic rigor and increased opportunities for social-emotional and spiritual development. Students are encouraged to assume social responsibility by organizing or participating in various local community and international outreach programs. They are also offered leadership opportunities through Student Council and duties in weekly chapel services as readers, speakers, and acolytes.
