Our Story
St. Philip’s Episcopal School was founded in 1953 as a preschool by the vestry of St. Philip’s Episcopal Church and led by Marion Krutulis, who also founded the Gulliver School. St. Philip’s has held a special place in the lives of several generations who have studied or taught on its campus.
In the 1980’s the School increased its size by one grade level each year until it became a full elementary school serving boys and girls of all faiths from PreK3 to 5th grade. Even as it has grown, St. Philip’s has remained small with just one classroom per grade level.
Service to the community and to those in need is of utmost importance to this little school with a big heart, and students participate in age-appropriate service projects throughout their time at St. Philip’s. Some service projects are shared with the parish, while others are chosen by the students themselves.
